COMING UP ON KWMR 90.5FM, KWMR.org:

 

On January 23rd, we rediscovered the French pop songs [Part I] of 2010 by singers that were successful and are still producing songs.

 

On January 30th we heard Part II of the 2010 songs that never made it after that. Some are very good songs though.

 

ALSO, on January 30th we heard my cousin Jacques from Nice who produced "Happy Hour", a French cocktail moody music program to unwind before the weekend. Here are the ingredients for the mocktail - to be consumed without moderation - he concocted for us. You still can hear it at KWMR.org/archives/Happy Hour". For the recipe he gave during the show, just combine the following:

 

Non-Alcoholic French 75 Mocktail

 

Ingredients
 

• 2 cups ice
• 3 ounces fresh lemon juice
• 4 dashes lemon or orange bitters
• 2 (6-8oz) bottles premium [ in glass] tonic water
• 2 rock candy swizzle sticks

 

On THURSDAY February 5th at 2PM Pacific: two hours of classical music mostly with woodwin and brass instruments.

 

On February 6th at 4PM Pacific we will enjoy basic French pop music with Lara Fabian, Louis Chedid, Marc Lavoine and more plus also a conversation I had with Ugo Bienvenu filmaker and director of the anime movie ARCO selected for the Cannes Film Festival now playing in the Bay Area and Sebastopol, check your listings. My friend, long time listener Wade in Souther California points out to me that "Arco" and "Iris" the young girl he runs into in the movie makes the spanish word "Rainbow" - "arc en ciel" in French. Too cute... or too clever?

 

On February 13th, Valentine's we will discover love songs by new emerging singers proposed by Sophie Cantier.

 

We just celebrated TEN YEARS of The French Touch on KWMR, and fifty years of Radio à la Carte in California! At about an average of 15 songs per show, that's over 7800 French pop songs shared with you just on KWMR! I am so glad we did it together, KWMR and you the listeners. Every FIRST Thursdays at 2PM Pacific and for 2 weeks thereafter: "Thursday Classical", two hours of Classical Music on Classical on the West Coast, the next one is February 5 with music played by bassons, flutes, clarinets and trumpets mostly.

 

Every Fifth Fridays at 5PM Pacific and for 2 weeks thereafter: "Happy Hour", two hours of French Cocktail music, moody and soft always with a cocktail recipe, produced and currated by Jacques in South of France. The next one will be on May 29th.

 

Occasionally, I will also sit-in to cover for other classical music producers.
