CURRENT KWMR SHOWS

COMING UP ON KWMR 90.5FM, KWMR.org:

On June 5, we heard Artificial Intelligence in French Pop music? The entire June 5 program was composed with "female singer with a Paris flair songs" entirely creayed by AI. The problems? Who gets paid? Who gets royalties? How about the droits d'auteurs? While discussions about AI-generated tracks into music platforms (whether by potential AI artists or now by users themselves) seem endless, TikTok has been invaded for the past few months by a new trend: transforming text messages from loved ones in songs! An american morhter garnered nearly 10 million view by converting her 11-year-old daughter's messages ("All I wanr for Christmas is Snapchat" or "Mom, why aren't you responding?" or "Don't you enjoy Mother Nature?" - "No mom, I prefer Father Ipad") into a pop-punk hit, while others transform excahnges with their manager on Slack into gospel songs or awkward attempts to contact their exes into musicals...

I shory, the best (and especially the worst) is now possible thanks to   EasyMusic, Suno, Mureka, Udio, ElevenLabs and many others, while are embroiled in a copyright dispute with part of the music indistry.

On top of that, as far as I am concerned, AI ["IA" Intelligence Artificielle in French] is not very creative, all the songs sound the same. Not very intelligent if you ask me.

On May 29 at 4PM on KWMR.com I shared with you French Pop music of the 1950's that includes Dalida, Edith Piaf, Luis Mariano, Fernandel and others. You can hear it by cliking on my mustache below.

Also, on May 29 my cousin Jacques shared with you two hours of mellow FRENCH music for Happy Hour, [check the Achives] relax and enjoy the beginning of the weekend, à la française.... It is there on www.kwmr/archives for 2 weeks

And then, on Thursday June 4th I shared with you newly released classical music for two hours including new recordings of Mozart's Piano Concerto #22 and the symphony opus 20 of Ernest Chausson, and more other new releases. Check out "Classical Thursday" on KWMR/archives.

At times we do not have a theme, we'll play a potpourri of songs, lots of good French Pop music from our shelves and drawers, including new recordings just received. Contact us below to let us know what you want to hear.
