March 6th at 4pm Pacific: to celebrate Francophonie month as well as Women’s month, I have asked you to give me suggestions of French Female singers and I received enough names to play this theme all month long, thank you and bravo. They will include Vanessa Paradis, Edith Piaf, Barbara, Zap Mama, Nana Mouskouri, Nicole Croisille, Theodora, Angele Sylvie Vartan and thirty more. It is not too late to suggest names using the form at the bottom of this page.

 

On February 20, we listened to the results of the Victoires de la Musique [French Grammies] who took place the week before and then we heared a conversation I had with Oliver Laxe who's French film "Sirāt" was the "Prix du Jury" in Cannes and is nominated for best foreign films at the Oscars along with best sound. On February 28, we heard all the nominees that were not selected at the Victoires de la Musique, the French Grammies. Click on my mustache below to hear it.

 

We just celebrated TEN YEARS of The French Touch on KWMR, and fifty years of Radio à la Carte in California! At about an average of 15 songs per show, that's over 7800 French pop songs shared with you just on KWMR! I am so glad we did it together, KWMR and you the listeners. At times we do not have a theme, we'll play a potpourri of songs, lots of good French Pop music from our shelves and drawers, including new recordings just received. Contact us below to let us know what you want to hear.

Every Fridays at 4PM Pacific and for 2 weeks thereafter: "The French Touch", an hour of French Pop music with a theme, see above.

 

Mercredi 9heures à Paris, en Suisse, en Espagne [Tuesdays Midnight PT] et pour quinze jours après: "The French Touch repeat".

 

Every FIRST Thursdays at 2PM Pacific and for 2 weeks thereafter: "Thursday Classical", two hours of Classical Music on Classical on the West Coast, the next one is February 5 with music played by bassons, flutes, clarinets and trumpets mostly.

 

Every Fifth Fridays at 5PM Pacific and for 2 weeks thereafter: "Happy Hour", two hours of French Cocktail music, moody and soft always with a cocktail recipe, produced and currated by Jacques in South of France. The next one will be on May 29th.

 

Occasionally, I will also sit-in to cover for other classical music producers.
